I probably spelled the title wrong but oh well it's been a long day/night here...
Tonight we had to put baby oil (or whatever it is) into a residents ears so they could be irrigated in a couple days to remove wax. Well the other 3 nurses I was working with started to worry because there was no dropper or anything to put the stuff in the lady's ears....
So I grab the bottle and say I'll do it... I grab some cotton balls and stuff for the ears and an individually wrapped straw and march into the lady's room and use the straw to put the stuff in her ears and then put the cotton balls in.... The look on everyones face was pure amazement!!!
They all said I would never have thought of that!!!
Just thought I would share, So has anyone else ever done something along these lines??????

I was working outpt cardiology and had driven to a clinic away from my hosp. Among other things I had to do that day was to put a 24 hour holter monitor on a pt. Well, I had a monitor but somehow I forgot to bring the kit w/ the cassete tape (this was a few years ago) and batteries. I found batteries at a local convenience store but we were out in the middle of nowhere and there were no cassette tapes to be had. I looked in my car and i had a tape in there that someone had copied for me. I wasn't surre if it would work but I put it in and it worked like a charm.
