Has anyone used a CPR board under a patient during a code instead of placing the patient on the floor (either in the hospital setting or in LTC)? Any thoughts on them would be appreciated. Thanks!

We have deflatable mattresses which we pull the cord on to put the patient on a hard surface (bed below them). Have used boards on the floors before. What sort of info do you need? There's not really much to it - although it's much easier than putting a patient on the floor, and much easier on our backs doing CPR!
I'm inquiring because students in CPR class I taught at a LTC facility asked me about them. I told them I would get back to them. From the product descriptions I found, it looked like an effective tool although I wasn't quite sure if a standard mattress under it affected the effectiveness of the compressions. I also liked the positioning of the head with a CPR board (since usually a cardiac arrest in a bed wouldn't warrant c-spine precautions).

Our head boards pull off and we use those for head boards. However, we do have the offical back boards on the crash cart.
