How Long Is CPNE Wait In Georgia

If you call the contact number listed on the website, they will be able to tell you. Also you can see about getting a cancellation date. Good luck.

Depends on the site. 6-8 months

Don't go to Georgia, I have heard bad things about those sites. If you want a quicker date, then go to New York.

I did my CPNE at Grady in Atlanta, I had a very good experience and a great time once the nerves settled down. The patients were great, they preferred EC student nurses over the other student nurses running around. The hospital staff was also great and extremely helpful, one nurse came in while I was doing patient planning and told me she had done her CPNE last year and said as long as I did my grid everything would be fine.

As far as the waiting period to get a test date, yes, it can take up to 6 months if you go about it the wrong way. I got my date within 1 1/2 months of my application, when I called to schedule a date Stephanie told me it would be 6 months, I asked for any open cancellations and she then offered me a date for almost every weekend until I heard one I liked, and I got it.

So good luck to you

Steve

OOO, that makes me so mad! When I applied for the CPNE, they told me NOT to call! I have met so many people that got a quicker date by calling.

I am SO glad to hear that you had a good experience at Atlanta. Hopefully the bad things that I have heard were from people that we not prepared. But it does seem like the "nightmare" stories that come out of the CPNE (not taking a apical pulse at the PMI, not ETOHing the stethescope) come out of there.

Thank you all very much for your input. If I don't have to drive or fly far I would probably choose a site in Georgia. I love to here CPNE personal experiences because they give me hope and inspire me.

My advice is always this: don't listen to the tales. Period. Right now there are more "horror stories" about some of the Wisconsin sites than anywhere else, and it amuses me because those sites have had a completely golden reputation for as long as I've been frequenting this forum. A few years ago, the horror stories were all about Texas. We all know that old saying about how a satisfied customer tells one person about their experience, but a dissatisfied customer tells 10 people about theirs ... I think that sort of applies to CPNE sites, too. This is just my experience from about three years of "listening" to the tales of the CPNE. :D

LunahRN, give me some insight or suggestion. I am waiting on acceptance letter from ISU, but have four theory exams left with EC. I really am at a crossroads not knowing which will benefit me more. Both are expensive, but doable.

2brn09, which program you choose is a very personal decision -- I don't know you or your circumstances, so I can't even begin to help you select your program! Good luck, whatever you decide to do.

I failed ls 1 the first time I took it and have not tested since Aug 2010. I got so discouraged and did not want to waste anymore money on the program. I won't graduate with ISU unitl Aug 2014. It doesn't seem long, but I will be 50 years young. I was thinking of perhaps just getting my Associates and if wanting to further my education then I could do so. I geuss just becoming an rn is most important right now, not the level of the profession.
