Sooo I started reading my guide yesterday and will be applying online for cpne Friday!! I have been reading a ton of posts on here also and just want to make sure I am on the right path to ease my mind :) My plan is to study 3-4 months, read the guide at least once, print section IV and focus my time on that(critical elements). Do Sherri's online workshop for 1-2 months and prob robs online DVDs. I can get skills set supplies at work and I'm def buying the EC wound and practicing at home. Will also submit weekly care plans via EC message center. Sounds good right?! Now just gotta start! Any other tips would be great, I'm so glad I found this awesome site

I think it sounds good, though I have not taken it yet. the study guide, while it is a lot of pages, is not hard to read. 1/3 of each page is the title and chapter, and there is a lot of irrelevant stuff (such as changes from the 17th edition). I am definitely going to read it again. I am not planning on doing any online workshops, as I have reserved a spot at lynn frederick's orlando workshop, but it seems to me you should pick one or the other?
I have been learning and practicing the labs, then I will need to learn how to write a care plan and the pcs scenarios and critical elements.
here is a link to the wound for sale on ebay from someone who recently passed.
good luck!

Thanks for quick reply and website! Sounds like we're both on track, good luck to you as well. And I also think the study guide isnt too bad to read, section IV and appendices seem the most important.

afaik it's when you're eligible for the fcca/cpne. info about it can be found in the cpne study guide.
