CPEN help so nervous!

Published

Good morning fellow nurses,

Tomorrow I take CPEN and I am SOOOO nervous. I do not feel prepared at all and have absolutely no idea how this test is going to go. I have a lot of pediatric emergency experience and am sure I have a good foundation but I was doing a few practice questions and thought OMG this is hard. For example, did you know that having chicken pox increases your risk for Osteomylitis? I didnt! Any good advice/study materials that might help me build more confidence? TIA.

I know it's a bit late, but you might want to review the chapter summaries from an ENPC book if you have one. Honestly, these board certs are meant to validate the things we do every day. If you have a lot of pediatric ED experience, relax! Just go in there and think about similar cases you've seen. Good luck!!

@NewRN24 - I hope it went well!

I failed by 3 questions. I will have to prepare better next time. ?

Awwww, rats! So close. You'll get it next time!

Congrats on taking the test and all the work it took to get to that point.

Think about how far ahead you are compared to when you started the process,

You are a better nurse for it. No parent of a child you care for will mind that you missed the cert, Good luck on your next shot at the cert.
