Good morning!
I have finally received my proposed orders from the BON here in TX. It states I will be required to enroll in TPAPN. I have no problem with that and I expected it.
I researched a little and I see that TPAPN will require me to have an evaluation done with a licensed addictions specialist, from their approved provider list.
I have started sending emails to the providers, to ask about the cost, but, I am wondering if anyone has any insight as to who may be on the less expensive side.
I have been clean and sober for 14 years, so I am pretty sure that any type of inpatient or outpatient will not be recommended (at least I HOPE not), but I am also trying not to break the bank.
I live in central Texas (Austin area) but am willing to travel.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I wish anyone worth recent (2017-current) experiences would respond. I live in the Austin area and don’t want to be railroaded, financially

I’m not from Texas but I wish you both very best. I hope they don’t hit your wallet too hard

Hey-- If you are still interested, I found someone (the cheapest) and it is $750. They are on the TPAPN approval list. PM me if you would like the name.
Trust me, I emailed nearly EVERY SINGLE PERSON on their list. I even had one tell me, "oh, the average is about $3k, and I am affiliated with a wonderful rehab unit" -- I have been sober 14+ years. Once I told her that, she said, well, even some folks need some inpatient treatment to "tune up" their sobriety. I laughed and thanked her for her time and got right off that phone call!

Cheez and rice......if that don’t scream ‘scam’ ain’t nothing does. Tune up sobriety? Via inpatient treatment at cash only? That’s like I got the “we recomandate inpatient treatment to begin immediately for my own safety”. Hmmm...I had been sitting on my orifice at home for 6 months and wasn’t even there for addiction issues to begin with.
what a bunch of crooks........
Tune up your sobriety???? That’s laughable. More like tune up their bank account. These things are a bald faced scam and money grab

The only person in my city that was on the TPAPN approved list had only one receptionist and told me she hadn't heard of TPAPN. After she figured out what TPAPN was, she said the therapist would charge $600. That $600 eval lasted ten minutes. The therapist was holding a lap dog while typing on her computer and only made eye contact with me once. I'm not even sure what she told TPAPN.
I hope your experience was better than mine.

Yes! I was shocked when she told me that. I mean, 15 years of sobriety come February, I think I have a handle on this now!
