Does anyone have a link to an online metric conversion chart? My Pharmacology teacher gave us a practice quiz on basic metric conversion and I can't for the life of me remember what they are! TIA

It isn't exactly a chart, but it is a site that has online conversion calculators. It is great if you need to look up one or two things. Or, you can choose to convert say 1 pound to 1 kg and it will tell you the conversion amount. You can make yourself a little study card or something.

Hope this helps.

here are two links i have book marked for mathematic conversions. the first is a conversion machine. click the link to "weight and mass". then, by clicking on the name of any unit (i.e. meter) that is listed you will get a list of all conversion factors from this unit to all others. the second is a table you can print out.
http://www.convert-me.com/en/ - convert me.com. you can get your answers to all kinds of measurement conversions at this site! it is a conversion machine. you can convert weight and mass (great for nursing pharmacology!!!!) and temperature (for nursing), plus many other categories. bookmark this one! clicking on the various units of measurement themselves will take you to a page with a table of standard conversions for those who want to work the conversions on their own. the links to get into the conversion machines is down at the middle section of the opening page.

these are the conversions that my teacher gave me. i hope that they will help you. 1 liter(L) = 1000 milliliters (mL) or 1000 cc 1 Gram(G or gm) = 1000 milligrams (mg) 1 Meter = 1000 millimeters (mm) or = 100 cm 1 kilogram (kg) = 1000 grams or 2.2 lbs 1 mg = 1000 (mcg) micrograms
I hope that they help you.... :)

I don't have a chart, but I use this Metric conversion system from sciencemadesimple.com. Here's the direct link to the conversion: http://http://www.sciencemadesimple.com/conversions.html
If you want to know what one converts to the other you can do like 1 gallon to 1 litre and it'll give you what it is 1:1 and then you can use that formula to do like 2 gallons = x litres, etc. And vice versa.

a little late to be posting this, but i just found it this morning.
http://www.nursesdrughandbook.com/safe_drug_admin/calculations_compatibility/conversionsandcalculations.cfm - here are quick reference tables of conversions and calculations on one page from the nursing spectrum drug handbook. with this page of tables is information to convert from one unit of measure to another, convert between fahrenheit and celsius, and practical formulas to calculate drug dosages and rates of iv administration. nice resource!

Here is a good way to remember some base numbers.
30 monkeys laughed at 1 old zebra (30ml..1oz)
8 dozen roses, 2 turkeys, 6 tums. (8dr..2Tbs...6tsp)
I know that it sounds weird, but I was able to remember it! All these things are = to each other
30 ml = 1 oz = 8 dr = 2 Tbs. = 6 tsp.
Remembering these numbers, you can usually use plain math to go up or down from this reference point. There are other things to remember like drops,kg/lbs and grains.
Good luck!

[color=#2f4f4f]haha, i know this is a really old thread, but the 30 monkeys laughing mnemonic has saved my tail! i ran across it on another site earlier today. i'm in my 3rd week of lpn school and it seemed like i couldn't get all of the conversions straight to save my life, now i'm more relaxed about my test tomorrow!
