converse?

Hi everyone,

I don't know what requirements my nursing school has yet, but I would love to get a pair of converse for clinicals. I used to wear them all the time, and I am confident they won't hurt my feet. Plus they aren't clogs, and I am afraid something with an open or strap back will fly off my feet if I need to move quickly.

Does anybody where converse? Do you recommend it, or not? The only thing I am worried about is the "pourous" factor....they are made of canvas after all.

Thank you!

My best guess is that your school's requirement for clinical is going to be something nonporous. Because you will eventually get peed on, barfed on, bled on, or something equally icky and trust me you do NOT want to have to think about getting that mess out before next clinical day.

There are plenty of good sneakers out there (I'm a Nike Shox fan) that are nonporous and don't have a strap/open back. JMHO.

thank you! Not having the time to clean the mess up isn't a bad point!

one of my pairs of clinical shoes are white leather converse. they are comfy and they clean easy in the washer.

Be sure to check the details of your school's dress code policy before you spend money on shoes -- it's not unusual for school dress codes to specify that athletic shoes aren't permitted at all.

I would wait. We cant buy tennis shoes, they have to be leather, and no open toe/back

I think I will wait, yes. But I need to entertain myself at my current job somehow. :clown:
