Considering my situation, which case would you choose?

I begin my last semester of RN school in the fall. I don't know my clinical schedule yet but I do know I would have to remain flexible. Have have two options so far as cases are concerned. Which case would you choose if you were in my shoes.

Case 1

Two days a week. 8a-5 and 8a-7

Pay 19/hr

Low skill set

Close to home

Case 2

4 days a week from 4p-8p

Pay about 20-23/hr

Further from home

I like case 1 because its only two days a week, but its less money and less skills. I like case number two because it pays more and have a higher skill set and 5 hrs a day isn't that bad.

What would you choose considering the hectic schedule of nursing school and etc. Callitor-go for it !

Go for the one that is closer to home. Sure it is less, but you can take more on after school is over.

My thoughts exactly. If I'm able maybe I will do the other one every other weekend. I need to free up my week as much as possible. My ideal schedule would be 3 12's.... or 2 16's. Thanks!

Case 1. Having to pull yourself together 4x/wk, along w/driving time for a short shift will take more time then it's worth. I agree with Caliotter3, you will have plenty of time for more skill level after school. Case 1 keeps a few more full days open for study or whatever else you want to do.

Actually, case one will yield more income (more hours) as well as less time driving and getting ready. So for me, it'd be case one without hesitation.

Thanks ! I've decided to stick with case one for now....
