Confused about applying for CES

Suzanne (thank you again for your help) has sugested i get my CES report done before i start applying anywhere, however i was under the impression that it can only be sent to a BON and I cannot obtain a report just for personal purposes. I have had a look on the application form and it asks you to give up to 2 recipients. Should I just put in the BON i intend to apply to if I have the correct hours. Will the BON keep it on file for when they receive an application. I don't really want to apply to a BON until i know that i have sufficient hours in my training as I cannot afford at the moment to go over to the states to study and I believe it is impossible to make up the hours in the UK.

many thanks

I would just include your intended recipients in the form. Sending the report is part of the CES and the fee. I don't think CGFNS will send in the report to the BON if their review found out that you lack certain hours anyway. They would prob. just give you (the applicant) a notice or a copy of the report so that you can make up for it. CGFNS will let you know if you lack something. Just wait for that then send in your separate application forms (and fee) to your respective State BON if everything is ok.

CGFNS will forward a copy of the report to the intended BON, as well as send you a copy. You must list a state BON, but you will be informed as well.

More than likely, since you do not remember any peds clinicals and throry, you will need to do that. Suggest that you also get a look at your original transcript to get some idea of what you did do. Much depends on how your school does the breakdown of hours, or you can ask them directly for that.

It will give you a better idea in advance.

I definatly did theory and clinical in peads, mental health, obstetrics and community in my training, not sure of the exact hours and I don't think i have it documented anywhere i can remember (it was 10 years ago now) I seem to remember doing about 2 weeks full time clical practice on both peads and obstetrics so about 60-75 hours and probably the same for the theory although maybe more, and for community, learning disabilites and community i seem to remember doing quite a bit more of the practical placements.

I am going to get a copy of my transcripts first to have a look at and if it seems fine i will go ahead and apply for the CES and just put down the board I am intending on applying to
