You must be getting close, aren't you about 2 months into your second term?

Yep, I am about two months into my second term. Thanks for asking. :)

I have 7 credits to go before I finish the program. I have not done any assignments since the second term began due to a sudden loss of motivation plus feeling sick and tired (hypothyroidism + chronic hives that itch like fiery hell).

Also, I placed much of my effort into studying for a certification exam, which I can gleefully announce that I passed on 12/29. I can now attach the CRRN (certified rehabilitation registered nurse) title next to my name, along with a nice bonus check and an annual pay raise that my employer offers for possessing that particular certification.

My new years resolution is to get back into the school mindset, but it is difficult when you have a chronic brain fog. I might also create an accountability thread to keep me on track during my final WGU term.

Congrats on the certification! That's a big deal!

Thank you! ;)

I think the hardest part will be found in maintaining the certification through completing the required CEUs every five years.

I was reading one of your other posts about your first term with WGU. It seems that many people really enjoy the learning experience with the University. I posted a thread in this topic section about the Stats class and the Biochem. My main concern is with stats, how was that class, as I have taken it twice with a community college and I failed it miserably each time. I am really interested in this school. It seems focused on nursing only, really preparing me for BSN level nursing. Right now all I am waiting to do is to take my NCLEX, hpoefully within the next month! :wacky:

Although my math skills are extremely weak, I was able to get through WGU's stats course just fine. It contained no calculations or math whatsoever. It consisted of theory, rules and concepts.

Okay, mine are weak as well, it took me a long time to get through the mud to reach to the point to where I am at now. I don't want a silly class like stats to hold me back again.

Thank you! ;)

Consider using your academic course credits for renewal purposes, often times content in nursing courses can be applied to speciality nursing content.

UPDATE: As a New Year's resolution I decided to get back on track with my schooling. So I submitted my PYT1 (Leadership Experience) assignment at about 1:00 this afternoon and it was graded a few minutes ago by TaskStream. I received all 4s!

Good for you for getting back on track, Commuter! I'm starting the program in Feb and one of my motivators in getting my own butt in gear was reading all of your posts and comments about your experience. You're SO CLOSE...just a few more steps and you're there!!

UPDATE: I submitted the second task for the applied research nursing course and, with the exception of one '3,' it passed with virtually all 4s in each rubric category. I hope to have the first task completed by this weekend, hopefully sooner.

Yes, I started the applied nursing research course out of order, in case anyone was wondering. Since the second task seemed less lengthy and involved than the first task, I started with that one to rebuild my momentum.

Good for you Commuter! I start the RN to MSN program in April. Excited to start :)
