Common Medications

Hey all!

I'm soon going to be doing my consolidation placement in my local emerg dept and I was just wondering if any of you fantastic emerg nurses could help me out by giving me a list of the most common meds you deal with so I can really learn these well before going into my final placement!

Thanks for your help :)

Same as above poster except Phenergan (its no longer used in the facility)...

and I would add Cardizem, Levaquin, Solumedrol, Td, insulin, ASA...

Don't forget the antibiotics- Ancef, Rocephin, Azithromycin, Vancomycin...

ETA- Almost all of your ACLS drugs (bicarb, epi, atropine, adenosine, amio, dopamine, levophed...)

Add Integrilin to the list.

And Ativan! NO ED can operate long without Ativan!

Blood products.

I think Metoprolol is more common in our dept. than Labetolol.

Fentanyl rounds out the list with the Morphine and Dilaudid.
