I’m getting ready to go to college, and I have to pick a math class. I’m not to bad at algebra, but I’ve heard many people say that college algebra is super hard and that elementary statistics isn’t that bad. Should I take college algebra or elementary statistics?

Either of the two classes could end up being a requirement for nursing school. I would suggest looking at all the prospective schools you are planning to apply to and figure out which one you need.
Another point: many colleges require College Algebra in order to take Statistics. If you are planning on attending a nursing school which requires Stats, then you end up taking both anyways. Just something to think about.....

Hey ?
I think it depends on your pre-reqs , in my school we didn't need stats(although some did take it for bachelors) but either like this math modeling class or algebra, I picked algebra. I do agree , college algebra is difficult, if you are just starting try to do low stress like stats,,

They are both pre-reqs I have the choice of taking either college algebra or elementary statistics.

No the school I wish to attend allows you to take elementary statistics without college algebra, they’re both re-reqs to get into the program.

I've taken up to Calc in college and I'm now taking Stats as a prereq for Nursing School...
IMO stats is more difficult...

I had to take both, but I found that Statistics was easier because I had an excellent professor, but most people will find that Algebra is easier.

I too had to take both. I made the mistake of taking them concurrently! Online! Wish I hadn’t.
I’m not good with mathematics. I ended up realizing it was simply because I was uncomfortable with math. I would spend about 4 hours a week for algebra and about 8-10 hours a week on statistics. Good luck!

Algebra can be easy but I think it depends on the professor

Agree 100%. Algebra was a lot easier for me too.
I had to retake statistics in an online format because the original class I took was way over the 7 year-mark my program allowed. When I first took Stats, it was in a classroom with an awesome teacher and we weren't using all the fancy, digital extras they use now with an online stats class. Online stats was brutal for me and it was pretty much self-taught. I was easily putting in 20+ hours per week on that class. So glad it's over. LOL

It's the same for me now....it may've been better if I had a lecture component instead
