CNA training

Hello everyone, i live in NE Philadelphia (new, originally from NY), and I could really use some help. I will begin my pre-reqs for a Nursing Program. I will be obtaining a second degree. While in school, I would like to get some experience that can help me during my studies. I figure that CNA training would be very useful in my quest to become a RN.

Are there any CNA trainings in the Philadelphia that can be completed on weekends? I work a full time job now, and will be attending class in the evening. So I really need a program on the weekends to obtain a CNA. Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you in advance

I just spoke with the Red Cross regarding their CNA training, and they are ONLY offering it days unless a private group were to request an evening class. The woman suggested going to the nearest public library because the places with CNA programs send their info to libraries.

I called several of the places on the Dept of Education list, and many of them are outdated (ie, not open and running anymore). I'm going to try the library route, and will let you know if I find anything good.

another option would be to consider EMT school- my SO went to Jeffstat, and they offer distance (with every other Saturday), evening and full time EMT classes. The price is comparable to what I've been quoted for CNA programs.
