They are offering an accelerated CNA class 6-7wks to start June 21, 2010 near the Ybor City campus. I have 2 friends who enrolled. It is $699 + $73 lab fees. Books are included as well as CPR certification.

I think that they also will be having another CNA class at the HCC Ruskin, Southshore campus. I believe that one starts in July but not sure if accelerated or traditional at 12 wks.

Vo-tech also offers CNA and PCT- # is 813-276-5464

They said to call back in July as they probably will be offering a class in Sept. I believe their fees were around $590 but don't know if it included books, CPR, lab fees etc

Their PCT class will be starting Jan 2011 and it's around $1650 for 7mths.

I'm sure that there are other places that have the class for less time i.e 2wks as their are classes at those private schools but if you want to eventually do your PCT or LPN, Erwin and Brewster will shave off the CNA portion of the CNA or the 90hrs Core from the LPN.

Hope this helps.

p.s Please give me some 'kudos' if the above was helpful, lol!

So are you saying brewster is just as good as erwin is? I mean erwin was my first choice but since I didn't pass the teas, brewster is my second. I tried looking up brewster about the school and if anyone has been succesful doing the lpn program from there but, I couldn't find anything. There lpn program starts in august so if you have any info or know anyone that has had great achievement from that school, please let me know. Thankz

I thought that u were asking about CNA classes not LPN? Erwin is a bit better imo and they have 3 classes per year BUT u have to pass the TEAS at 70 percent and there is a lotto although if u pass the TEAS u would prob. Get in.

Brewster: LPN is only 1 class, no TEAS and TABE 11th grade- but they have a lotto system so odds are low u get in- Brewster does CNA and PCT- Erwin doesn't.

Have you gone to Brewster for either of their classes? I'm just wondering because I can't find any reviews and it is the most reasonably priced pct program in the area. I am seriously considering it. Thanks for all the information! I wish HCC offered a PCT course!

Your considering going to brewster . Im just curious why is that? Is the quality of the school good?

Hey I've taken the PCT course at Brewster which is an extend CNA course that Financial aide will pay for. Its a good program. I'm also taking the LPN program at erwin that starts aug. 24. You get 165hrs credit towards the program if you have complete a pct course at brewster or Leahrey.

there is a school on N. Nebraska and I wanna say Fletcher. Tampa Bay HealthCare Academy is the name. check them out.

I just completed basic training at the Tampabay healthcare academy prep which is located on N. Nebraska+ Fletcher Ave (which is inside of RVpark; i know it is very strange location).

They are a couple who run the academy and very very reasonable price. They are LPN and RN. You can earn HHA, CPR, First Aide, Med Tech and CNA prep training starting from 1 week and cost only $100 to $300 depending on how many certification you want. They just started PCT and phlebotomy training, which is 4 week training with CNA and all other certification including. http://www.tampabayhealthcareacademyprep.com/default.html

However, this institution is not state approved or accredided, which is ok in FL because FL state doesn't require to receive CNA and other certification from accredided institution while some other states require. This is reason their tuition is significantly reasonable. Redcross cost about $495 just for CNA prep and it is 4-6 weeks program.

If you care about quality of the training, I don't recommend to go tampabay academy. If you just need quick help to get CNA prep and other certifications and jump into work, I do recommend. They also help for job hunting and medical resume. If you need additional training until the date of test for CNA, as long as you get training from them you can go back to the academy to keep getting training without any extra fee. If you want traditional and formal training, you better choose community college or red cross or some others you get info from here.

Yes Tampa Bay Health Care is Great They found Me two jobs that I Work at Now and For the Last post they are accredited School. And They Have independent:yeah: education through the board . They are Great And will help you In any way...

i'm curious if

sexylilmomma has taken her state exam? because the class that passed in may still has not received there paperwork for lifescan or testing dates from prometric. the couple( a husband and wife ) that run this business may have been a reputable operation before but since the wife is having a difficult pregnancy this place is a joke. i'm an lpn who graduated from erwin in 2004( and yes they are awesome) brewster is good too. tampa bay healthcare academy is not professional. take your money somewhere else. they have not returned phone calls and my husband still has not received scrubs and other items that were included in his tuition that was paid in cash in may! the four months that you can work without taking the exam has passed, so i wonder what has happend to all the may students??? without jobs? proabably! my husband and i call daily to see about his testing............no wonder this company has a c- rating on the better business bureau!
