CLEP Test Info

Published

Hi all. I'm looking for info on CLEP Testing in general. I've never done them and I need some humanities credits. Anyone know a website that lists the available test? Anyone with CLEP experiance please chime in on this.

I used the CLEP test a few years back for credit in sociology which I needed as a prereq for nursing school. I would highly recommend it IF you have the self- discipline to make it work. CLEP testing was given at a large university near where I live four times a year at that time-don't know what they do now. I don't remember exactly what it cost but it was WAY less than signing up for it at a local college, plus you do it at your convenience. Only down side is that you don't have a class to discuss the material with and no professor or tutor when you have a problem or question. I allowed myself a month or two to prepare. There were CLEP study guides you could purchase for a number of the subjects. I got one at Barnes and Noble that covered the basic concepts and material in a summarized form. It had a couple of sample, full length exams to take as well as a section with explanations for the answers. I did not do very well on the first sample test but brought my grade up about 20 points on the second sample test. I did quite well on the actual test itself. Good luck!

I took the clep test for sociology this past summer at a local university. It was $65 total. I ordered the study book online at Amazon.com, studied it for a couple of weeks and took the sample tests and then aced the actual test. I advise you to clep out of any class you can; saves a lot of time and money.

Good luck!

CLEP and Dantes tests are one of the best ways to complete credits. I have averaged 1 - 2 CLEP or Dantes tests per month since August 2003. The credits keep adding up and I'm lovin' it. After I found http://www.instantcert.com/info.html studying has become a breeze. They charge 20 bucks a month and you can get a little off if you use code 63184 when you sign up.

I have scheduled 2 tests for this month.

Send me an email if you want more info.

Good Luck!
