CLEP Human Growth and Development

I didn't CLEP that, but I did Sociology, and it's way easier than the practice tests included in the book.

Good luck. I found it very easy. There were about 75 questions, I think. I'd recommend that you read up on speech development--there were a few questions on which type of skills will emerge at different stages. Also know your child development theorists like Piaget and Erikson. The rest is pretty much common sense if you have any experience with children... (There is a heavy emphasis on early childhood as opposed to other stages in the lifespan.)

Has anyone taken the Human Growth and Development CLEP? Was it hard? How many questions? I am scheduled to take it tomorrow.

I took it about a year and a half ago. It's not one of the hardest CLEPs by far. I used one of the study guides you can get at any book seller (I think I used REA) and just went over and over it a few times. If you've had any psychology, it's very basic stuff. If you've studied you'll do just fine. Good luck!

It tells you there are 90 questions and the test is 90 minutes. It also gives you a breakdown of the percentages of questions asked from various categories.

If you review Erikson, Freud, Piaget and those psychologists who had the theories about the different stages, which ones were which, you should do okay. I also subscribed (for $20 for a month) to a website called Instacert.com where you can review for CLEP exams. They have the review for the HG&D and several others. Might be worth the $20 to study there tonight if you are unsure. Couldn't hurt. Best wishes. Keep us posted.
