Classroom to NCLEX

Any recommendations on how long to wait after graduating before taking the NCLEX? In other words, do you dive right in and take it 2 weeks after graduating or is it better to give yourself a month or more to study before taking it?

I took my ATI RN predictor and scored a 96%; however, I have such test anxiety that I don't know whether it is better to just do it and get it over with, or give myself more time to prepare. Any thoughts or experiences you could give me?

Thanks so much for your input!

I took it two weeks after on the first available date. I don't like waiting in anxiety if I don't have to.

I took my NCLEX 2 weeks after taking the Kaplan review course, so my NCLEX date ended up falling on a date about a month after I graduated. Take it ASAP because the longer you wait the more anxiety you'll have!

Our school has been telling us 6 weeks time or less. I am hoping to take it at around the 2 week mark.

It took about a month to get my ATT. I took NCLEX five weeks after graduation. I don't think I would have had the endurance to drag it on any longer. It felt like I was studying for a final exam every night for 5 weeks (which I was).

2 weeks post graduation would be hard to do. The school needs to send the graduation paperwork to BON and then the BON needs to process the applications. I graduated in August, off the peak Dec/May graduation seasons, and it took 3 1/2 -4 weeks to get my ATT.

Thanks for your input. I'm sure you're right....dragging it out only prolongs the anxiety!
