I have seen a difference between the people who have some pt care experience and those who don't. All that means is that those who have some pt care are a little more comfortable doing the skills and knowing some med terminology in first semester. It seems like everybody evens out by 2nd semester. So my advice is get experience, but if you are a medic already then 1st sem will be a breeze. I was an EMT for a while, got certified in 93, sorry I don't remember the book title.

Spanish and computers. I took a few compy classes on my initiative...Has been a life saver. Also wish I would have paid a lil more attention to psychology.. or at least life span.

I learned from Brady for paramedic.....I took my basic and intermediate in the military, so dont remember.......There are so many classes you have to complete to get your RN, i dont think i wanted to take any other classes except for what is required.
I would take spanish though, you'll need it. But im sure being a medic, you know the phrases to get you by.

Nutrition. I wish that I had a better understanding of what promotes what type of healing, etc. I intend to take it after I get my feet on the ground with my new job.
