Chilliwack BC

I am a student nurse going into the final year in Edmonton.I have future plans to settle in Chilliwack BC. I would like the honest opinion of any RNs working there, pertaining to the work situation. That is, would Chilliwack BC be a good place to settle with family and have a stable work situation as an RN, even if the work starts out as casual?

Thank you all for your time.

What happened to your plans for SK and the interior of BC?

Chilliwack. Military long gone, farming, commuters to Vancouver.

Which hospitals are you planning on applying for?

Hello, I was told that SK would be really miserable in the winter and as a recent immigrant I have really disliked the winters in Alberta therefore I am starting to consider warmer locations in Canada. Also, I actually have a significant number of family members in Chilliwack BC.As for the interior of BC, certain people have informed me that it might be challenging to find all year round work. Therefore, I am keeping my options quite open right now and hope that knowledgeable Canadians can inform me of the best place to be!Thanks.

There's not much in Chilliwack and it's still apart of The Fraser health authority so it's no different than working in any other suburb of Vancouver.

My cousin works in Chilliwack and is from Toronto. She too has told me that there isn't too much going on there, but seems to like because shes big into outdoor sports and camping. If you have a job lined up I would go for it because the job market is tough and hard to predict. You'll further develop your working experience and will broaden your horizons. In the interim apply everywhere else.

You do realize that winters in the Fraser Valley are long, dark, and wet?! I'd rather deal with cold/frigid sunny Alberta and I grew up in the lower mainland!
