I am about to get a job in the Med Surg unit. I was offered a night position on Part Time basis. I really want to work Midnights. Is it generally easy to switch shifts to night in a hospital?

I'm not sure what the question is asking, you've already been offered a night shift, so what are you trying to switch to? Part time to full time? That should be relatively easy. I'm sure you could pick up shifts until a full time position opens up.
For someone looking to go from days to nights, it would entirely depend on the unit. Some units have nurses who like nights and stay on them a long time.
You have your foot in the door, that's the important thing.

You want nights and you were offered nights. What's the question?

Maybe she was offered 3-11 and she wants to work 11-3.
