Chamberlain MSN Fall 2016

Published

Starting CCN MSN Oct 24th - anyone else in the for the Fall? Wouldn't mind connecting.

I am almost done. The work is hard but I have had some fantastic instructors. Good luvk.

I'm about 70% of the way through my MSN in executive leadership. I've had some spectacular professors and others I felt were on a power trip. They made really bad instructors. All in all, I've had good luck, enjoyed my classes, and definitely have been challenged learning new things. I wanted to do the FNP, but later realized that I was not prepared to work those hours when I still have children in grade school.

There is a FB page for Chamberlain MSN students. Take a look at it.

Nurse2berica - Any thoughts or suggestions going into it? Did you try to do 2 classes at one time at anytime during your journey through the program? Thank you for your input.

I am halfway through the program, I love it. I am focused in healthcare policy. I have had some really awesome professors that motivate and inspire us. They did recently change the discussion curriculum, so it is much harder to get full credit for weekly participation. The program is paper based, meaning I only have taken maybe five tests and have written a ton of papers. I like that because instead of memorizing random nonsense, I am researching into topics I am passionate about. I have my BSN from them as well and I got my first BS in Management/HRM from DeVry. I am a veteran so financially speaking, I have been able to afford all the college I have received from them. I got my ADN from a completely different school. I have never had a problem with Chamberlain, finding a job that required a BS, networking, etc. I love the online platform they use, I get bound and printed copies of the texts for $15 instead of buying the books themselves. Chamberlain has agreements with the publishers of the books they use to allow this. I can use the online book option, but I prefer a paper copy. Make sure you are on top of your APA game because almost every professor will deduct max amount of points from the rubric possible for not doing proper APA in a grad level program. I do have to find my own preceptor for my preceptorship in a year, but that is not really hard to do.

Hello I am in the Healthcare Policy program, can you please tell me what is expected in the practicum and what exactly do we need from our mentor?
