Cell Phones

Published

Over the last few years, I have had kids with fractures, asthma attacks, etc. Invariably, the kid will have a cell phone in their regular or athletic locker. That is ALL the parent worries about when they come to get them. I have a clinic full and I am chasing a cell phone down. Really, would it kill you to leave the phone and take care of your kid?????

If they have an iphone tell them to use the app "find my phone" and they can go hunt it down themselves. It's not your problem...the sick/injured kids are your problem. Some parents amaze me. I work in an elementary school so cell phones are not that big of an issue right now.

why are you chasing down a cell phone? isn't there ancillary personnel to do this task / get the student's other personal effects from their locker?

I agree! I would be sending someone else to find that phone/retrieve the student's belongings. I have called teachers to have them send student belongings with another student or ed tech to my office, but in an emergency that wouldn't be happening.
