I am currently working on passing CCRN. I am a neuro ICU nurse so I do not have much cardiac exp. I am looking for advice on what to study and how to study for CCRN since Cardiac is major part of CCRN. Thanks.

I always end up having to take the test again when its time for renewal because I never have enough CEUs.....I have found that the AACN's "Core Curriculum for Critical Care Nursing" is a great study guide as well as the book of practice tests.....The practice tests are great, but I cant remember the names of the books. Check out the AACN's website.....
Good luck!

Well, I hope the original poster passed the CCRN. I'm studying up for it now and will possibly take a review course next month.
Hey...update!! I'm gonna take the CCRN exam tomorrow at 9am. I'll be reviewing all day today, except for the occasional break.
I passed!!

Congrats, Texas!
What's the experience requirement for taking the CCRN?
Thanks!
Hey...just saw your question. The requirement is 1,750 hours at the bedside. I guess about 2 years experience. If you're interested in taking the CCRN exam, most definitely "Pass CCRN" is a good book to buy.
Ooops...I corrected the hours for eligibility.

1750 critical care hours which is equivalent to about 1 year full time work. The exact hour breakdown can be found here: http://www.aacn.org
Here is a copy and paste of the text found on the AACN web site.
1,750 hours in direct bedside care of the (adult, neonatal or pediatric) critically ill patient within the last 2 years preceding date of application, with 875 of those hours accrued in the most recent year preceding application are required. Clinical practice hours accrued in an undergraduate student role are NOT acceptable.
Gracias, Donn!
