Has anyone taken the CCRN?

Sure have.. I advocate it for anyone working in critcal care. Some hospitals are even paying folks more who have it.

I've taken it, too. It's encouraged, though not required, for all ICU nurses where I work. There is no pay differential, however. Looks good on the resume!

I took it 4 yrs ago and passed. Even got 100% on neuro! I get an extra 50 cents per hour for being CCRN certfied in my facility, the only place in the area that pays any kind of differential for being certified.

Yes, just took it in December, and I'm glad I did. The studying alone makes you a more well rounded nurse. I think the difficulty of the test comes from the fact that it encompasses all aspects of critical care nursing.
My hospital reimburses the cost of the exam and gives you a $1.00/hr pay raise. So getting a near $2000+/year benefit from a $220 exam makes it worthwhile.
