CCBC Spring 2022

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys! I’m starting this thread for any CCBC 2022 Spring nursing applicants. I recently submitted my application and would love to hear from others!!

Hi! I just sent my application for the hybrid program. I applied for Fall of 2021 and was not accepted. I kinda knew I wouldn't get in because I had to finish Micro but I was still bummed.

However, I emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) and she looked at my transcript. I asked her if I should retake any prerequisites so I could bump up my GPA. She suggested that I retake the TEAS. I got like an 88% in math and 90% in reading but my science brought me down to proficient.

I am re-enrolled in Micro to try to get an A so I can have a more competitive application (just in case) for the fall. (I ended up with a 78%) in Micro so I was soooooo mad that I have to retake it ?

I'm kind of in the same boat as you were in the fall. I would've been finished my science pre-reqs over the Summer but with covid changing everything, the half online half in person micro section I registered for changed to fully online. So now I'm taking it in the fall as well as A&P2 and ethics.
(I also found out that phil 101 no longer counts for an A&H credit, which really has me bummed because I paid in full for a class 1. I don't need 2. Now have more on my plate in fall because by the time I was aware of this, there were no Summer classes that I could take. I did pretty well on my TEAS, so I went ahead and applied anyway, but I'm not letting my hopes too high. I'm more so banking on getting in for fall 2022.

As far as repeating classes, a few years ago I had to repeat like an entire semesters worth of classes due to health issues and now that I keep seeing SHP doesn't honor CCBC's repeat policy as far as GPA, I've been really freaking out. Lets just say simon says I have ~3.6 but factoring everything in,
I hardly make the cut. I'm not sure how seriously they take that policy, but I'll likely apply to Harford County next fall too as a back up. ?

Hey wait! You’re taking micro again in the fall? Whos your professor? I’m taking it at catonsville with (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME).

Hi!!

I too applied for CCBC nursing program for the Spring 2022 day at Catonsville. I applied for the fall 2021 but was put on the waitlist and then didn’t get in because all the seats were filled. I’m sooo hoping I get in this time. I retook the TEAS and got a 90.7. I am taking CHEM 107 and 108, PHIL and MATH 153 this fall and then I will have finished all my prerequisites.

I applied for Spring 2022 at the Essex campus day program. I’ve taken every prerequisite except communications 101, A&P 2, and the new diversity course requirement (I chose art appreciation ARTD 104). I am taking them this fall 2021 semester. I also took Phil 240 Spring 2021 just to find out it’s not a diversity course ?. I have a 4.0 GPA and I also took the concepts of nursing course that’s supposed to help boost your chances of getting into the program or something. I did not score too well on the TEAS? (68 overall and an 87 in reading, yikes). I’m not too sure I’m going to get in since I’m not done my prerequisites and didn’t do too well on the TEAS. I more than likely will have to wait until Fall 2022 and retake my TEAS for a better score.

Are you taking Chemistry on your own? I don’t see it as a prerequisite on the admissions packet. I think that’s a good idea and something I should’ve thought of!

You have to take CHEM for the ATB program. If your only doing the Associates then no you would need the CHEM classes.

I am also taking Micro at Catonsville. I think the professor's name will get deleted anyway, but she is awesome ? I actually feel confident that I will at least pass the class without biting my nails the entire semester.

Also just wanted to add that if anyone doesn't get accepted to Spring and will be applying for Fall 2022 (probably me LOL), you do NOT need Chemistry if you apply to the Notre Dame ATB program. I called just to confirm because there is no way I was trying to take Micro and Chem at the same time ?

Hey- I would check again about Phil 240 not being a diversity credit because they told me I have to take 240 after I took Phil 101 because 101 wasn’t a diversity credit but starting fall it would be?
