You definitely need to speak to an advisor at the school. You say that you did not make the minimum mark. If you apply, you might receive a rejection letter stating that, or that your application was not even considered. We have no idea what this school will do with your application. A school advisor could tell you whether you should apply or look for another program. Good luck.

BCIT has always had high standards for their nursing students. Research and essays are important.
The nursing programme info is easy to find. Use those research skills.

You definitely need to meet the minimum, and usually exceed the minimum requirements, to get in. BCIT is very competitive and can have up to 600 applications per intake.
I'm not sure what schooling you have, but BCIT also requires 60 credits of post secondary before they will accept you. The website states minimum 30, but again, the competition pushes it up to 60 credits.
I agree with Fiona, research and essays are important. I'm in the program right now, and if your research skills aren't strong, you will definitely struggle. There are many, many presentations and a few papers each term - as well as readings and other coursework - so you need to have strong skills to work efficiently.
what does it mean to require 60 credits of post secondary school? i need to two years of post secondary in BCIT before i apply into nursing program? if so then which program should i get in first?
if i want to talk to a adviser at school, how can contact them or who should i talk to?

You want the Nursing, not the Specialty Nursing program.
Entrance requirements for the BSN program: http://www.bcit.ca/study/programs/8870bsn#entry (minimum of 30 post secondary credits)
Contact info for program advisors: http://www.bcit.ca/advising/contact.shtml
It appears there's an information session being held on November 7, 2011 as well.
Good luck!
Aw, Pete. We were trying to get the OP to do their own research. If they want a nursing career badly, they need to be able to find their own info.
BCIT is really easy to locate if you live in the lower mainland and it's on major bus routes. A quick trip out there would give a lot of answers.
