AHHH I hope we don't have to apply for fall 2010 Solidus_Snake! :)
But if I do....I'll be applying EVERYWHERE (except Fresno because I don't have this one Philosophy class they require...)

As much as I don't want to apply, I must anyways, since I do not recieve any acceptance/rejections(hopefully no rejections except for HSU, which I really don't care anymore after the total points fiasco that is, unless I get in:chuckle:chuckle:chuckle) until November for HSU(just hearing myself repeat "HSU" makes me cringe now hahaha). Other than that, no further notices, which means I have to apply next week for SFSU and FSU for Fall 2010.
Elacer, which CSUs are running over your mind for next week's applications?
So far I got CSU: LA, LB Bakersfield, San Jose, San Diego, maybe Channel Islands. I was thinking of doing Biola and Azusa? Any thought what about you so far your doing Bakersfield and San Francisco and Humbuldt?
yup, and Fresno. Maybe University of San Francisco too. If I don't get accepted to any nursing schools, I've always got my backups into an online LVN program, the peace corps, or work/volunteer out of the country.
But I've got a (good) feeling---"that tonight's gunna be a good night"----- hahaha because of CSUB. I really hope the 30% whom have not taken the TEAS yet continue not to take the TEAS(I'm very bad...but hey, what else can I do other than wait?) so that the competition can further be lessened from about 70 to maybe 50 people.
SFSU has 8 prereqs: the golden 4(math, critical thinking, english, communications) plus the 4 sciences (micro, anat, physio, and chem). they also have optional criteria in foreign language, health experience, and multicultural experience. the past yearS, they've recieved over 1000+ applicants for 80 spots. they only have 1 application period for both fall and spring semesters. 40 are placed in each semester randomly. you can only have 1 prereq in progress for spring too when you are applying during the fall. the average GPA for SFSU's nursing applicants that made it was a 3.8+ with the majority of applicants 3.9-4.0 including 2+ of the optional criteria. that's pretty fierce. I know also that Sac State is fiercer than that, but at least SFSU does not require TEAS. Sac state's average for TEAS was at least more than 87%.
Fresno state has the same prereqs as SFSU, but the average GPA if getting in was at least a 3.7+. a 3.6 is ok too but given a fair chance. SFSU's curriculum is 5 semesters, 2.5 years including summer and winter breaks. FSU's is 6 semesters, 3 years including summer and winter breaks. They take students for fall and spring via applications twice a year unlike SFSU. Fresno also requires the TEAS but does not have optional criteria like SFSU. It is all based solely on GPA overall and prereq like SFSU too.
Humboldt has a 5 semester plan like SFSU too. They only take a maximum of 30 people. Like Fresno, they have applications twice a year. However, they go rankings in point systems out to a total 105 points. points accumulated by overall GPA, prereq GPA, foreign language, health experience, and residency. TEAS are required and the prereqs are weird: the same prereqs as fresno and SFSU but with another special chem class for nurses.
SFSU, FSU, and HSU all have coreqs too. nutrition, psych, and soc/anthro for all, plus humn develpmnt for FSU and HSU with a bonus of philosophy for FSU.
SJSU and CSUEB have trickier rules before considering. they both require ALL of their prereqs to be finished before applying. none may be in-progress. they also have more prereqs than SFSU, FSU, and HSU. I think another english course and organic chem too.
Stanislaus has the same prereqs as CSUEB. like fresno and HSU, they take apps twice a year. their curriculum is 6 semesters too like FSU.
Chico is similar with Stanislaus in terms of prereqs and maybe curriculum too.
Sonoma prefers their native freshmen students first than transfers similar to FSU. Their prereqs include a general biology course too along with the usual prereqs. their program is 5-6 semesters if I remember correctly. Sonoma is getting pretty competitive too.
That about sums up the Nor cal and central cal schools form my searching. I was able to narrow it down to FSU, SFSU, HSU, and CSUB. I might add other schools too.
Wow thanks a lot for the information its great. I really hope you get into CSUB the wait is killer. This fall with the new "interview" I am not to sure what to think. I have thought about this in my head several time and feel like it might hurt me. They will give a student up to 15 points and I am somewhat shy and nervous and hope that they won't be to harsh. I have exactly 1 more week and its OCTOBER 1st! WOW I am nervous. Keep me posted and i'll letyou know anything I hear!

CSUEB - you can finish your pre-req this fall and still apply right? I mean I only have physio left and I am pretty sure since the application is due by nov 30 I am technically still finishing my last pre-req. No IP means no in progress in spring correct?
yes. they told me that you can have one IP for fall, I think.... but when I looked on the website, it said that all prereqs must be done.
I went to one of those transfer session with EB like 2 months ago and they said I was ok if I was finishing my last pre-req this fall, lemme check the website. lol scared now.
*edit*
All prerequisite courses must be complete by the end of the Fall 2009 term.
- basically even if u had like 4 pre-reqs left - as long as you finish them by fall 09 then you are ok. =) yeahhhhh I was scared for a moment lol.

dang... boy you got lucky! whew. well I can't apply since I have not taken org chem, the last prereq I need for that school. so I place all my bets on Bakersfield for the spring 2010.
