Bunker Hill or Massasoit Evening Program?????

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone out there was familiar with Bunker Hill's evening RN program and Massasoit's Evening RN program. I appllied to both programs and if I get into both programs, not sure which one I should choose. Please help me out in making my decision. Positives and negatives of each program, professors, intensity of the programs.

Well from what I've been gathering from other discussion on here bhcc has some few flaws with their evening program...what I know most people do to make a decision between schools is to compare the nclex passing rate of each nursing programs in Massachusetts....I know for 2013 massasoit has a passing rate of 92%.....

Hope that helps a bit

Thanks Genny. Did you apply to Bunker Hill and Massasoit. When do letters go out?

You're welcome! Yes I applied to massasoit and quincy college....

Good morning! Here is my $.02 ... I went to both BHCC, MCC, and I also work at one of the most prestigious universities in the world so I have seen my share of "issues". BHCC: I liked the classes, I found it to be a pain getting into some classes that pertain to your program because they admit SO many students. It has grown a heck of a lot. The admin is the biggest NIGHTMARE. Always giving wrong information or sending you to someone else. That someone else will send you back. The financial aid processes was always a problem. Constantly having to go back for something to be fixed. Overall I would give the school a C.

MCC: I did a lot of classes and pre-reqs there. I loved the classes, the teachers, and even the admin! Never had issues with getting into classes, financial aid, or anything else for that matter. However, while taking HG&D, there was a girl that was currently in the nursing program and she wasn't happy. Said she wished she spent the extra $ and went to Brockton Hospital School of Nursing. When I asked her why she said that it was very disorganized, they don't care about anything other than you getting a passing grade, it was catty, and not professional. I like to take everything with a grain of salt, so even though she was unhappy it didn't deter me from applying. Overall I would give it a B

I've worked in a University setting for 11 years and have realized that everywhere has a degree of disarray. Nothing is perfect. It's all in how you make it and get through it. Sorry for the book.... I hope it helped a little.

Hi- I graduated from the BHCC Evening program in 2008. I had a great experience and have no complaints about the program. I think all but two students from my class passed the NCLEX on the first try. Good luck with your decision!

Suzie2729: where do you live in relation to each school? Will you be working while in school? If so, consider the distance from work to school to home.

lala2017.... I just got accepted from the wait list. Do you know if there is a thread for the evening students? If not, we should create one.
