British RN starting the application HELP!!

Hi

My name is Angela, im new to this forum:)

Well ive been a RN in England now for 6 years and me and my hubby are hoping to move to florida in 2 years.

I've bought my books, started revising and got lots of info swimming round my head!!! One thing keeps worrying me, does anyone know or has been in the same position as me and can give me some advice on the whole process, plus when the ncsbn say they need a ss number before license is available, does our nat ins number count?

Any help would be greatly appreciated:redpinkhe

Thank you so much xx

You will need a SSN for your application. They won't issue a license without a SSN. Check out the international forum. The process is discussed there in great detail. Good luck.

The social security number is issued by the US government. There is nothing that will substitute for an SSN.

Moved to the international forum,

I don't think Florida will issue a license without a SSN and that you will not get until you are in the US with a valid work or immigrant visa.

Just wondering which route you are planning on going with if immigrant visa and your husband is not a USC you are aware of retrogression and that it can take currently a lot longer than 2 years?
