Boards!!!

Hi all. I know I haven't been around for a while, but I have been busy with my new job and studying for and taking boards, plus my stepchildren are here for the summer and my computer time is WAY down. And..... I passed boards!!!! I am now officially a registered nurse!!!! It feels kind of weird, though. I walk down the hall to go to work and feel like a complete fake. And I've noticed that I am more scared now about charting than I was when I was in school. I guess because I always felt I had a safety net in school! I do have a really good orientation/preceptor program and will be on orientation for 10-12 weeks, more if I need it.

Hope you all are well. I will try to pop in as often as I can!

Lyndalous, I too am very sorry to hear of your news. I'm kinda wondering like Laura if this is correct or not. Please keep us posted. Take care, Shannon

HI Everyone:

Sorry I have not been on here. I kinda lost my spirit. I did everything I could do for this test. up to 500 ques. a day, Kaplan review, NCLEX cards, I never did anything but study for months. I know in my heart that I did the best that I could. I don't know if I am going to retake the test. I struggled all through my BSN program just to do good. I was always studying. I did it in five years. I just don't think I can take the stress anymore. How much can you beat a dead horse? I might get my masters in Gerontology and go forth with that. I think things happen for a reason. And when one door closes another opens. Just pray for me because I am really down in the dumps. I worked too hard for five years to get shot down like this. It's like telling a little kid they can have the biggest ice cream cone and then not getting anything at all.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts. Yes, they are unofficial results and the official ones come in 20 days.

Lynda, please do not give up hope. I know several nurses who didn't pass the first time and passed with no problem the second time. Please give yourself at least one more chance. We are all pulling for you!!

Laura

Lynda,

DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!! Just hang in there and take the test again. You have worked too hard.
