Hi lyn, I will be working on med/surg. I think I am going to stay there a year or two, until I feel really comfortable, and then I am going to cross-train to ICU.
I'm crossing my fingers for you, but I'm sure you will do fine. How do you know you will get the results in 22.5 hours??

HI:
OH hehe I can call the boards hot line at 9am monday morning so that is 22.5 hrs away!!! Can you tell I am getting a little to excited. I too want to start out on med surg for a year or two until I am really comfortable to switch to OR!!! I am just so excited right now. I pray everything works out tomorrow at 9am...... Oh these hotlines give you your unofficial results and then in a month they mail out your official results. Only a couple of states have this right now.
Well I wish you the best of luck. Please continue to post how you are doing because we all want to know!!!!
That's how I got my results, too! Only I didn't know exactly when I could call. I called every day like five times a day, even from work. I was at work Thursday morning when I finally got an answer. I started jumping up and down in the middle of the nurses station!! People I didn't even know where coming up and congratulating me. Then, I got the verification faxed to my supervisor and found out what my license number was. It was SSOO exciting. Let us know tomorrow morning!!
I don't think it costs that in VA. It's just the VA Board of Nursing number and anyone can call and verify licensure. I guess what you are talking about IS different from here. Luckily, VA is really on the ball about getting results. I took my boards Monday and got results Thursday! Which was really much faster than I expected.

Hi all. I know I haven't been around for a while, but I have been busy with my new job and studying for and taking boards, plus my stepchildren are here for the summer and my computer time is WAY down. And..... I passed boards!!!! I am now officially a registered nurse!!!! It feels kind of weird, though. I walk down the hall to go to work and feel like a complete fake. And I've noticed that I am more scared now about charting than I was when I was in school. I guess because I always felt I had a safety net in school! I do have a really good orientation/preceptor program and will be on orientation for 10-12 weeks, more if I need it.
Hope you all are well. I will try to pop in as often as I can!
