Hello Everyone,

I passed the Kaplan, May 31,2017 with an overall score of 78%. I would like to start chatting with other prospective nursing students who applied for BMCC's nursing program and successfully passed the kaplan!... let the waiting begin!!:nailbiting:

@BobbyG8267, Hi! i have been waiting for someone to reply! First off, i'd like to say congrats on making it this far! we came a long way! I hope that everything does work out for you! but if you don't mind me asking, what is your Kaplan score and current GPA for the pre-reqs?

Hello All!!

I'm also a Fall -Evening- hopeful here !! I took the exam on May 30, scored 77% (wanted to hit the 80's tho) Gpa for pre-req's is 3.7. Currently taking Micro. Soooo nervous!! but from what I have read on here, a lot of people with about 75% & above and Gpa's of 3.5 and above seem to get accepted. Also, it looks like Mr. Sierra makes the calls- and possibly in alphabetical order! I know he said calls will go out middle of June for those accepted and letters for those not accepted. Ugh the anxiety!!! Praying !!!!!!!

Congratulations on your score. I took the Kaplan exam on May 31st as well. I have a 3.8 GPA but I scored a 70% on the exam. I think the grade is too low to enter into the nursing program. So I'm hoping to re-take it in December.

Congrats to you All! I applied for the day program, my GPA for the pre-reqs is a 3.93 and overall it's a 3.67. I'm super nervous but i still hold hope!

Congrats on your success! That's a good score and great GPA! and yes, I hope that's the case, I've read countless forums and noticed students with kaplan scores of 75% and 3.5 GPA's get in! I hope we all have that same luck! I wonder how other students did on their exams.

@misslene23 You have a good score and your GPA is Pretty high! I don't see why you wont get in!

When I spoke to someone in the nursing office they were looking for 80% and above but I've seen on previous blogs where students received a 75% on the KAPLAN and were accepted. I haven't known of anyone getting less than that and getting an acceptance call.

@Misslene23 I read about one student with your exact grades, who was admitted, but that was when the HESI was implemented. Keep your fingers crossed and if anything you can always sit the exam again. I was aiming for high 80's, unfortunately, the writing section is what lowered my score drastically. If I do not get accepted, I am going to sit the exam one more time and consider other schools if anything. I really do hope we get in!! This waiting is killing me!!

Yes I was really shocked at how tricky the writing section was. The next exam would be in December. I have read that the same exact test is given the second time around, not sure how true that is.

yes the writing section was a monster in disguise. The exam is the same exam every year! I found a bunch of questions online, and they were the exact questions that were on the exam! so it should be the exact questions, unless they decided to add new information.

OMG really? I didn't get any info on the exam that would of been helpful because what I studied in the KAPLAN textbook was not helpful AT ALL.
