Okay, I just put in my paperwork to transfer from the Air Force to the Army. Can anyone share what I might expect from the Army nurse corps vs. the Air Force nurse corps. I also am applying to the Army's CRNA program for next year. CRNAs opinions would definitely be appreciated!

Hopeful SRNA for 2006.

If you don't mind sharing, why the transfer?

I came into the Air Force with the hope of going to CRNA school, but due to bad timing (CRS qualifications), 75% reduction in slots last year, and since I just moved to a new base I am unable to apply to school this year. Now almost 3 1/2 years later I am getting a little tired of waiting. So if the Army will send me to CRNA school next year I am all for going blue to green.

Don't get me wrong I really love the Air Force ( I would recommend it to almost any nurse), but I have professional goals that aren't coinciding with Air Force's policies/timelines at this time.

I hope it works out for you too. Just remember to start the process early to ensure you don't run into any problems as you approach your service transfer.

How about Navy to Army? I know of two Navy nurses trying to do the same thing....

Have you been given any hope of achieving your goals if you make this move? Would hate for you to be going through all of this only to find out nothing is there for you in the Army that makes it worthwhile to change services.

I read about this program in the AF Times.... I was wondering who would take advantage of it....I went from Army enlisted to AF comissioned. They paid for CRNA school with HPSP. Let me know how you like it.
