Bit of a strange question....

.....Ok, I know this is, maybe Im having a shot in the dark, but one of our babies has unexplained multiple problems, genetic stuff is all normal, diagnosis unconfirmed, prognosis-again unconfirmed. Such a poor wee soul, CNS problems, cant even suck feed. my thought is.. her Daddy is a sheep farmer, she would have been conceived around lambing time last year...anyone came across problems with babies of sheep farmers/ any associated factors?? I do know, as I said, its a shot in the dark, im not looking to solve this puzzle, but wondering if anyone else has encountered farmers children with problems and if there is a link.

Are there any unusual parasitic infections the father may have been exposed to? What about contamination of the drinking water with microbes or toxins?

We had a baby girl a number of years ago who had a wide array of abnormalities, with no obvious cause. Her mother worked in a veterinary clinic in a rural area, and I remember our docs ruling out the above.

No farmers around here....but you did not provide much info. on the infant. Is there history of any bleeds? You are saying everything is coming back normal yet the infant cannot suck/feed? Any head scans/MRI? Any skeletal surveys? Any work with PT/OT? All other Neuro signs are normal????

Viral?

IVH ruled out?

????? (sorry!)

We get kids like that, they're usually metabolic.

Did they do a TORCH work up?
