? about birth control ?

Hello all. A few of you may have read my post that I just got engaged and will be getting married in a couple of months. Well I want to get on birth control before we get married but it's been YEARS since I've tried it. About 13 years ago I tried a couple of pill kinds and they didn't work well with me. I've made an appt with my ob doc for the end of the month, but I would like to know what has/has not worked for you all so I can be informed and discuss them with her.

Thanks so much for you info. :)

I am 25 and I take Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, and because of the low hormones it doesnt affect me as bad as others I have tried. I also tried the patch, it kept falling off, so not really sure how well it worked.

Thanks everybody for your input!!! :)

I already have an apointment set up for the end of the month. I just want to be fairly informed about the different types of bc before I go.

a word of warning: these new low-dose birth control pills are very sensitve to your weight. i was on them for a while and i am overweight and ended up getting pregnant. Kris

??? So if you're overweight they don't work?

Another thing - be careful if you have to try a few different types to have a backup birth control method. My niece changed from one type to another lower dose and immediately got pregnant. We love our little Marah but she definitely wasn't planned.
