Not worth a penny more monetarily in my experience (however, not having to wait for the interpreter to show up before you can do stuff: priceless!)

It depends where one works. I worked for a large hospital and the translators there had to take a test to prove they were bilingual. They got maybe 5-10 bucks a day extra for bilig pay.

Around here, being bilingual looks good on a resume but definitely not required.

Depending on where you live, and then only if you are a certified translator, and have documentation of the exams that you took and passed.
