Bad Interview?

Hi,

I had my first interview for an RN position yesterday (I am graduating next week). First of all, I arrived 10 min. early, but they kept me waiting 15 minutes past the scheduled time (so 25 minutes total), and then didn't offer an apology or anything- made me feel already like they weren't really interested in me.

Then the interview itself went failry well, I thought, we did discuss things such as orientation etc. But then they ended with "We will finish up interviews this week and into the beginning of next week, and then we'll be in touch". No tour of the facility or anything.

The HR person walked me out and said "Was this your first interview" I said yes, and she said You did really well.

So overall, I am not sure what to think. Mostly in the past, I always kind of knew whether or not I was gonna get the job, based on how the interview went. With this one, I honestly don't know. The way they closed makes me think, probably not, but then again, maybe that's what they tell everyone... what do you think?

Thanks :)

Wow what a bad experience and I'm sorry you had to go through that. Just try to stay optimistic because you never know. You may have perceived the interview as bad but they may have perceived you as a future employee. I wish you luck and keep me posted.

I know it's tempting to look for clues whether it was a good or bad interview, but really you won't know anything until they get back to you. I had an interview that I thought went really well and I was rejected.

Good luck!

Having to wait 15 minutes past your scheduled time is no big deal. When interviewing you just have to arrive early and suck it up if they make you wait. Just the way it is.......... One of the many reasons it sucks to job hunt!

Cannot tell by what happens no use judging it. You will just have to wait and see. Do not judge it by whether you have had A tour or not.

Relax...don't read into anything...be patient and wait...that's all you can do...why worry about something you don't even have control over anymore...I had a friend who interviewed for a pediatric surgical trauma position as a new grad intern here in the Texas Medical Center...she said out of all the applicants they only interviewed 40 (they accepted both ADN and BSN graduates)...well she has her ADN and was not expecting it at all but she got it!...It's funny how we think we had a great interview and then we receive the rejection email in our inbox...and then there's people like my friend...so this goes to show you that interviews can go either way without you even knowing it.
