I'm starting to get snarky with the kids.
Like the girl I've sent back to class FIVE TIMES. The same girl who pranced into my office as I am dealing with the boy outside of my office who was about 5 seconds from passing out. I said "Get back to class now" (this was after I had just seen her about 10 minutes before for the same thing that I can't do anything about and we'd already called family who refused to come get her because of absences). As soon as I get back from my office after helping the boy to the car, I get a call that "she just threw up in the bathroom". That's what I get for demanding to see it if it happened. I wish I trusted her more, but I really wouldn't have put it past her to induce vomiting. So I tell her I'll call the counselor that's dealing with her family, find out what is up with absences and see what we can do to get her home. I tell her to go back to class.
Where does she end up not two minutes later? In the same office as me looking for the counselor. I said "I asked you to go back to class. She isn't here".
OMMMMMMMGGGGGGG!!!!!
So off she goes- after talking to the student services person, I head to the front office where the same stinking girl is on the phone trying to call family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm biting my tongue at this point. I don't let nearly as much fly out as I wanted to, but she said "I called my grandpa and he's going to call them". I said "you don't need to wait here for that. GO BACK TO CLASS". Off she went again.
I have NO DOUBT that she never made it back to class.
