I have tried twice now to get my digital fingerprints done for a background investigation with no luck. No one is able to get a good set of usable finger prints. I have "worn ridges" and so I have no good fingerprints. What does an agency do with a person like me? Do I not get the job because of my fingerprints? Perhaps I can get a job as a "hit man" since I don't have to worry about leaving any fingerprints at the scene?

This is a lot of baloney to go through for just a nursing job. I would tend to look for jobs in the future where you don't have to give the prints just to avoid this.
Thanks caliotter3. I think I am done job hunting for now. I had just wanted to add 4-6 extra days a month. I had no idea what a fiasco it was going to turn into. I did give my useless fingerprint card to that agency who said that they will process my fingerprints for me. It seems strange that the police could not process my fingerprints but the agency said they would do it for me.
Maybe the agency plans on "processing" your fingerprints by placing the card in your file without further ado.

Is there any law enforcement agency in your area that does the old-fashioned inking type of fingerprinting? Done by an experienced person this technique can lift prints from just about anybody. I understand you are moving on from this pre-employment experience but fingerprinting is being required more and more so it might behoove you to find an alternative way to have your prints done. The digital scan technique is usually great but it has its drawbacks as you have personally experienced.
Thanks. Yes, I think I will suggest the ink way instead of the digital way in the future. I sure haven't had any luck with digital fingerprinting.

Before you go for your old fashioned "roll type" prints, fill a glove's fingers with Corn Huskers Lotion and leave them on for about 30 mins. Wipe them off, then go in and get your prints. Corn Huskers Lotion is water soluble, and will raise the ridges on your fingers for a short time. A friend that is a finger print technician for my police dept swears by it. They actually have a large bottle in the fingerprint room to use on arrestees with hands like yours.
Thanks awsmfun. OK. I will go and get some corn huskers lotion and do as suggested. It sounds like a very good idea.
