Back to the floor

I'm taking a leap and going back to the floor. It's a Cardiac IMC, so it will be mostly my same pt population and doctors. Need a break from the politics and favoritism in my OR. The charges just not getting it when it comes to assigments, etc..

So 2 weeks from Thursday will be my last day. Then I go to 3-12, very excited about that. On the heart team we have to do 8's. When I gave my notice they said well you can do 12's in the OR, but I would really go crazy then, when I would be in a room and all the "chosen ones" would still be milling around.

I'll keep my foot in the door and still take some call for my friends.

Wish me luck......

Sometimes we just need a change. Best of luck! You must be excited..:)

Best of luck. I know the feeling and I feel the same at times but I also know that my goal in life is very high and I can't get myself involved in petty things like politics. I also know that I am having to work their share as well because they can't be bothered to pull their weight but in the end I can only do as best as I can. Sorry I just know the feeling and I am also venting my frustration but I wish you all the best and that u had the courage to follow your heart .

Once an OR nurse always an OR nurse. It gets in your blood, ya know. I had a love/hate relationship with the OR for years. It is just that way with us. There's politics on the floor, too. Take a break, learn something new but you'll be back! Yeah, I have to agree that 12 hr. shifts in the OR (especially if you have to take call, too) would drive anybody crazy! Good luck! CU soon!:p
