AVC 2021 Spring Nursing Program

Hello!!

I've noticed that there was not a thread for the AVC Spring 2021 nursing program and I wanted to make one so that anyone can share their thoughts and to give encouragement to anyone who needs it.

I've personally used a previous thread (AVC Fall 2020) which helped me figure out what I needed to do before I entered the program and the thread answered any questions that I had.

So don't be shy, ask any questions. If you have any questions for me I'd love to answer them. I hope all the best for everyone.

Sincerely,

TotallyARealNurse

I applied with 70 points. I know someone who was accepted for this past Spring semester and they got their acceptance email on November 27, the day before Thanksgiving. Hopefully we’ll get notified around then as well.

Hi everyone! First post here. I applied with 65 points too. Hopefully we hear back this upcoming week on the acceptance letters. Im sure that the cutoff will be lower than the Spring semesters that was at 65.

I think someone in this thread or it might be a previous one, said that last years Spring class cutoff was 55 points and this past Fall was 65. They take in less for the fall because of LVN students. But with AVC extending the app deadline this year, they might've had more applications come through which would raise the cutoff score if it was a super competitive round.

Hey guys, does anyone know whether classes will be held remotely? and I also applied with 65-70 points depending on how they calculate it.

@aspiringnurse225 It is going to be hybrid. Someone (who is currently in the program) previously posted in the thread and said “Meaning you guys will go to Lab (at avc in UH) and practice your nursing skills. On one day of your week you will have a zoom lecture which talks about the readings you should have read for that week. You won't always go to Lab, you will have clinicals aswell at the hospital (we are going to Palmdale Regional Medical Center do to covid) and do some clinicals online (we had to do to covid).”

Not holding my breath but... it’s the day before Thanksgiving! Same day notifications were received last year. Hopefully we find out soon! The wait is driving me crazy!

It doesn't look like we are going to find out today or this week since they break for Thanksgiving. Lets hope for Monday! =/

Nothing yet! Hoping today is the day! But I say that everyday! ?

I emailed the office yesterday and she said that they going to email everyone (I’m assuming for both rejection and acceptance) and are hoping to get them out soon.

The wait is killing me especially since Spring semester is starting so early this year, it doesn't leave a lot of time to get everything done with covid and xmas coming up... it could take some more time to get appts to get physicals, TB, titers done etc. ?? I hope we find out today! ?

----------------------- emailed me the other day stating they’re hoping to get them out this week so fingers crossed ??
