AVC Fall 2021

Hi, anyone applying for AVC Fall 2021. I'm finally done with my prereqs and I just ordered my transcripts. Now I'm just waiting to take my TEAS before the deadline.

@Cyla I was referring to pointst overall on the application not just on the TEAS exam

Is everyone here a current AVC student I wonder if we took any classes together

I'm not. I've done my pre-reqs at COC and some out of state.

A student scored high on TEAS but the other sections were not so good.

So, maybe holistically isn't the correct term.  But perhaps the other all points from each section.

My friend mentioned one student scored 88 on the TEAS the other 65 and they both got in.  So maybe each section is looked at individually

Oh I see what you're saying. I was told its just an overall points things. Cause if you have a 4.0 science GPA but did low on the TEAS then you would still stand a chance based on the point system. But if your GPA is low and you scored high on the TEAS, like 88+ then again.. you can end up having the same amount of points as someone with the high science GPA.

I do like this system because I feel like it does give everyone a fair shot at getting in. So, if you know your science GPA isn't the greatest then you bust your a** on the TEAS to get those extra points. And like @Futurenurse661 said up there, you can always get your CNA to get more points to add. It's all good strategies. I hope we all get in! LOL

Hello

Just received an email the application was received and being received....  It appeared to be a general application sent to all applicants.  Did anyone else receive it?

@Cyla I received it too. Hopefully they tell us soon. Like next month or something.

I think it said end of may beginning of June. I was nervous about  application being complete.  Not knowing it is complete bc I was worried about my ED plan. I initially sent an ED plan that did not reflect my completion of Microbiology.  So I email the updated one to the coordinator.   She responded "thank you " to the email.  Would you sau she received it?

@karina paredes congrats do you mind sharing how many points you had.

The LVN-RN program has a different point system than Generic ADN does. Those in that program will integrate with the Fall 2021 students in August, but they start in the Summer before generic because they have to take different classes before they can start in the RN program.

Also, I think this was the first semester that they implemented a point system for the LVN-RN bridge.

Hi yes ! I honestly didn’t have many points I think 71 ... BUT , I had applied in 5/2019 . I’ve heard many diff stories on how the lvn to RNs were selected . I heard some are points some are used by the waitlist . Anyone here an LVN ?
