August OBLC

I've been reading some of the post. I am new to allnurses and I was just wondering if any of you would be attending the August 3rd OBLC at Fort Sam. For any of you who have been there how was it and how do you like the Army?

Lucky you. I wish you a safe trip there. I had to buy all the ACU's becasue When I was in the program I was still wearing BDU's. I did have my dress blues and PT's. For the most part I have everything I need I just have to pack my civilian clothes. Look here's my number(757-788-9578) if you have any questions and my Real name is Estacy.

I wish everyone a safe trip to OBLC. See ya'll sunday or monday. :wink2:

Garifuna, I hope you had a safe flight. I left this morning and seem to be making pretty good time. I will give you a call when I get in the area. Don't start the fun without the rest of us.:chuckle

Did you make here to Texas yet? It is so HOT!!! I am trying to get climatized and i've been running in this heat. NOT NICE. Hope to hear from you soon.

CONGRATS fellow 66H!! I just commissioned yesterday RC as well. Wishing you all the best! ArmEGirl:yeah:

Garifuna...I can so empathize with you down there! It is so hot. Was there in April for a tour of Intrepid and BAMC and I was unreal with the heat!! Stay the course..time is on one's side (the sun has to go down everyday at some point) Congrats and all the best!

Congratulations on your commission! My application will go before the board on the 19th. I'm hoping to be at the October OBLC. Curious...are you going in as a CPT? I have my MSN and 11 years experience but they said I may have to go in as a 1LT. I hope not!!! Hope to see you in TX!

Thanks and hoping to see you in Oct. I am wondering as they say it takes a while to get in the system. HOPING so lets stay in touch. Feel free to PM me anytime or email me.

I have 14 years an MBA and MS HCA and I also commissioned as a 1LT.

Please do keep in touch!!! :typing

Congrats on the Commission!!!

I commissioned April 22nd. It took 2.5 months to get my orders and I am still sifting through more medical exams.

Heads-up. If you did not get blood drawn for an HIV test at "meps" or whoever did your medical screen.......HRC will "disenroll" you from OBLC.

Hope to see you at Oct OBLC

1Lt. Benton

1LT Benton,

Thanks so much for your kind wishes!!!

Wow! That is a long turn around time.

I hope I dont have more medical to do. I had everything done including HIV so hoping I wont have to do anymore.

I really don't know if I will have orders by Oct OBLC. I'll keep hoping!

Thanks again and I too hope our paths croos at OBLC!!!! My thanks!!!

Yeah!! (I think?!) I was approved by the board last week but I am still awaiting a waiver. Who knows how long that will take. When it finally does come back... I will commision AR 1LT then CPT when I am AD. I still have my fingers crossed for October's OBLC even though it may be asking too much. Still looking forward to meeting you in San Antonio....

Waivers usually do not take too long. I am sure that they will work hard on getting yours in so that you can attend the Oct OBLC. I just commissioned someone who will be attending OBLC in Oct and she has not talked to anyone to determine where she will be stationed. From what she was told, as long as you get in before the date that you have to leave, you should be fine. We are both going AD and will arrive on 12 Oct.

I am coming in as a CPT as well. I hope to see you there!

BTW, has anyone received their orders? My RFO was incorrect so I am waiting for new orders.
