ATT from NY BON

It depends on how many applications are coming in to them to process. You should have a shorter time right now, vs. May or June. But then again, it also depends on the mail service.

Also depends on how long it takes for them to receive the notification from CGFNS.....but it shouldn't be more than onw or two months fro you to have the actual letter in hand, but please do not register with Pearson-Vue for the exam until you have the actual letter in hand.

The status of my transcript validation form for my CGFNS-CVS for NY STATE is still "waiting to be received".It has been almost 2 months since I sent my application to CGFNS.I called CGFNS and I was told they will wait after 60 days from the date they sent the first mail before they will send another request form to my school. Is it possible for me to go to my school and make the request myself? CGFNS is talking about sending another request in December 18....that is too long!! Please advise. I really really appreciate all the info I get from allnurses.com guys...Thank you very much!!

Have you checked with your school to whether they have sent the transcript. I had a similar problem with CGFNS but I knew the transcripts had been sent via FedEx and pointed it out, suddenly within 1-2 weeks it showed up online that they had recieved it. If your school had sent it surface mail it will be a few months before being opened by CGFNS. They are opening recorded mail sooner

I have checked with my school many times, they said they have not received any request from CGFNS.MY school and my licensing authority are literally "neighbors", and my licensing authority takes one month to process any request, whereas my school takes a week, yet my licensing authority has sent in my license verification to cgfns ahead of time...that was a month ago.I have reason to believe CGFNS's request has been lost in the mail. Am I allowed to send a signed Transcript Authorization Form request to my school so they could forward my transcript validation to CGFNS? CGFNS said they will wait until December 18 to send another request, I just can't bear to wait that long.I really appreciate your reply.

My school had already sent the transcript, but I had registered the exam before that. I still not get the ATT from NY BON, and I registered with Pearson-Vue one and half month ago. Should I write Pearson-Vue for this situation?

I am trying to think what I did last yr re CGFNS but I think I printed forms online from CGFNS filled it in and sent it to my school of nursing I also spoke to them and told them I had arranged FedEx to collect the transcripts once it was ready. Have you had a look online to see if there is anything you can download?

I have already spoken to my school's registrar. She said I may download the Transcript Validation Request Form from the CGFNS website, but then she told me she can not guarantee CGFNS will even accept the Transcript Validation if I make the request on my own because CGFNS/ CVS for NY State specifies that "they" be the ones to send the request to the schools. I wonder if I should go ahead and send the request myself? Surely if you have done it and they accepted it, they will also accept mine? Thank you so much, I really do appreciate your input.:)

I don't thing that there is anyhting that you can do........on the top of the papers for Pearson-Vue, it reads do not send in funds until you have actually received the ATT letter from a Board of Nursing. Once the funds are paid to them, and you have not taken the test, the funds belong to them.

Please let this be a warning to the rest of you, DO NOT SEND IN ANY MONEY TO PEARSON-VUE BEFORE YOU RECEIVE YOUR ATT LETTER.

CGFNS told me that they have already forwarded all of my document to NYS Education Department on 9/9. I have written an e-mail to NYS Education Department to ask them if they have my document. They said that they have already sent a nclex letter ( Is this so called "ATT"? )to me on 10/29, but I still haven't received it so far. So I wrote an e-mail to them to ask if they can send me another one. They didn't answer my question directly, and just told me that " You may apply for the nclex exam at www.vue.com/nclex ". What does that mean? I am really confused. Does that mean that I can apply for the nclex exam at www.vue.com/nclex without the ATT in hands? Please help me out here. Thank you.

Which one should I choose on this? I am taking the exam for the purpose of the licensure and the visa screen. Should I choose " 3 " or others? Does anyone know about this? Please help me!! I really appreciate your help.

You are taking the NCLEX for licensure, as you do not hold a license in any other state in the US. The area where they are asking about Visa SCreen is primarily for nurses who began work in the US from Canada. Some states in the past had reciprocity with Canada and their scores from their Canadian exams were accepted. But now everyone is required to have the Visa Screen Certificate, so there is a litlle difference in the way that it is processed.

Since NY told you that you were sent your ATT letter, it is okay for you to go ahead and register for the exam.

Since I've never seen what an ATT looks like, I thought that I need to have an ATT in hands before register for the exam, because I have to bring the ATT with me as an identification on the test day. :imbar So I don't actually need the ATT in hands, but I need to know if they have approved my application to take the exam, and the ATT means " authorization to test " . Am I right?
