Asking a Nurse; Interview

Published

Hello,

I was wondering if any nurses on this discussion would be so willing to take perhaps five or ten minutes of their time to answer some interview questions about their experiences via email? I am in college now working to become a nurse and this is also for an assignment and I would greatly appreciate any person's time and hear about their personal answers. If anyone is interested, please message me so I may send you my email address? Thank you once again, and I greatly appreciate it!

Generally, the intent of these assignments are to get you out there and talking face to face with a nurse. Unfortunately, you can't verify the identity of anyone who would respond here- they may be a nurse; they may be an imposter. There are many resources you can try- the local public health nurse, a school nurse, friend or family members or their friends, your own health care provider's office, the list goes on. This also makes it much easier on the nurse granting you the favor of doing the interview- they talk while you listen and take notes instead of having to type everything out. And as a benefit for you, you can start networking now. Sometimes, it's more who you know than what you know that can help with finding that first job- and having a local contact would be in your favor.

There are 3.3 millions RNs in the country. Rose Queen has given you some good advice. Posting on an anonymous internet forum is not what this assignment is about.

We get several classes worth every year wanting to interview a nurse. I've responded and they just want to get the assignment done, no real interest in the answers, no thank you, no follow up questions. So, no, you are likely not going to get a lot of takers. Try the new grads maybe.
