Army nursing

I have been thinking about becoming a student nurse in the army, I was wondering what the training consists of and what life will be like as a nurse in the army so if anyone has any experience with this, I would really appreciate feedback

    It is very very tough to get into, scholarships are even rarer. I got in (Army ROTC) when the wars were at their peak so it was easier. The military is downsizing as a whole so that means less nurses.

    What are your specific questions? If you do ROTC its 4 years of training, you can also direct commission (no ROTC but BSN/RN required with 2 years experience) but not is not common anymore. All officers got to the AMEDD Basic Officers Leaders Course (9 weeks for active duty)

    EDIT: I see you are from England...nothing I said applies to England or the UK.

    If you are in the UK then ask the mods to move this to the UK nursing form under the World Nursing tab. Nursing in the UK differs from the U.S. in many ways including UK nurses are specialty trained vs generalist trained. I doubt the majority of the general membership could offer insight about the UK army nursing. You would not be eligible for the U.S. Army programs as a non-citizen
