it can help you be organized but i dont actually recommend it if you're on duty as a student nurse, especially in government hospitals. besides you'll be required to carry with you a tickler/small notebook to jot down patients' data.

It may be helpful in some ways wherein you can organize your schedules, have dictionary but I believe it is not a necessity because you can't use it while on duty and in the classroom either, I think ( I graduated a decade ago hehehe). It is up to you, for me, I bought my palm coz it is easier to send text messages. During my 6-week training, I was not able to use it.

i have never used one or own one when i was a student..even if now i am working as an rn. when i was a student nurse, i used tickler or small notebook for my stuff..otherwise i have a calendar. nowadays, a typical mobile phone in the us can serve as a mini computer, you can browse the internet, send emails, text message, or send ym to your friends...palm for me? maybe not.

speaking of gadgets, does anyone know a nursing drug handbook in symbian or .sis format? i'm thinking of putting it in my cellphone and have a handy-dandy drug book (arf! arf!). i think bulky drug handbooks are troublesome.

i bought a palm when i was in 2nd year college thinking its gonna be helpful when i go on duty. never used it for what i thought i'd use it for.. i just used its camera function for taking pics..hehe. and now that my camera cellphone has a higer resolution than my palm, it's just in my drawer accumulating dust..i'll be applying to hospitals in a few mos (after the retake) and i dont plan on using it too..ticklers are still the best!

I have a LIfedrive(Palm OS) and I have installed Suanders Q&A, Davis NCLEX, Drug Guides, NANDA, Medical Dictionary, PDQ, mp3 audio lectures and more. Its easier to carry this around than big books. Reviewing can be anywhere. The downside is you have to spend for each program though. If you have money to spare, you won't regret it.
