Applying for UIC DNP...

Haha, less than an hour later I received an email inviting me for an interview! Crazy.

So, you're required to attend an information session (good) before your interview, and then the interview is only half an hour long. Does that seem short to anyone else?

Also, does anyone know how much of the curriculum is offered online? I'd be attending one of the satellite campuses, if that makes a difference.

I also got an interview! Ours are only 20 mins.... I guess that seems like a reasonable amount of time if they are just one on one. I applied for full-time on campus in Chicago so I really don't know how much of the cirriculum is online, sorry.

How exciting! I'm doing the interview over Skype since I'm out of state... I wish we knew what the acceptance rate is!

I got an interview and even though I'm out of state I think I'm going to fly out for the interview. I applied to a regional campus and I have no idea how much of the curriculum is offered online. I guess that's why they will be having informational sessions. My informational session will be after my interview.

Has anybody else noticed that the cost of the DNP for out-of-state students runs almost $100,000? I just did the math, and it's a little frightening. Is that really accurate, or do they award a good amount of financial aid that's not loans?

I interviewed yesterday. Now the long wait until April to find out. Anyone have any idea how many people initially applied versus how many got interview invitations?

Truly have no idea! I did the best that I could and hopefully it was enough:) This is the first time they started a new process. My interviewer said they all ask the same questions (which is surprising that's new), a group of people look at the applications, a group look at the interviews, and then they come together. Then still, there is a committee that takes the recommendations and makes the ultimate decisions. My interviewer is on the committee so that could be a good or bad thing.

I wonder how it works with regional campuses. I've applied for the Quad Cities campus, which I know takes a small cohort, and they're only interviewing 18 applicants on the interview day.

My interview is next Wednesday! I'm excited, but I'm really sweating the cost. Even if I am admitted, unless they can offer me a really great financial aid package, I'm not going to be able to afford to attend.

I can relate! I completed a FAFSA and applied for the UIC scholarship. If admitted, then there are more scholarships that you can apply to.
