Thanks I just checked and I did indeed find two older emails in my spam folder. They sent out one saying that the emails went to spam/junk folders of those with Gmail accounts like me.

I just got my email today even though the email was dated April 15th. I got accepted and will be at the Peoria campus.

I ended up missing my interview on Thursday because my flight got canceled due to the winter storm Vulcan and the next available flight was on Friday morning, so I called the UIC and they were able to do my interview on Friday. It went pretty good. My interviewer was the director of the regional campus I applied to. After the interview she gave me a power-point hand-out about the program. The program seems really intense and they require only A's and B's. If you get one C you go on academic probation and if you get more than 1 C you can have possible dismissal. I plan to go full-time and I do not plan to work so she said that was good because it is hard to work and go full-time. She also said that exams are taken on campus and some of the classes would require you to be on-campus a few days for the semester. Orientation is 1 day and they will let you know once you are accepted sometime in April. So the waiting begins.

My interview is next week Thursday and I am applying to one of the regional campuses (Peoria). I hope my interview goes well. I will be attending the info session which is after my interview. I will let you know if I learn anything that is not mentioned on this thread.

I got an interview and even though I'm out of state I think I'm going to fly out for the interview. I applied to a regional campus and I have no idea how much of the curriculum is offered online. I guess that's why they will be having informational sessions. My informational session will be after my interview.

The only posts I found were also for the graduate entry program, and there was 1 person who posted back in 2010 under the heading "UIC DNP program": "Feb 24, '10 by greygooseuria Anybody get called back for an interview? I'll be interviewing this Monday." No one replied to the post. Does anyone know if they do phone or skype interviews for out of state applicants? I wonder why there isn't much that we can find about UIC's DNP program other than their website.

If required, faculty interviews generally take place during the month of March with final decisions being announced in early April. This was on their website to the bottom of the link, but there is no mention of when they call or notify for interviews.

I have also applied to the UIC Fall 2014 BSN-DNP program, FNP specialty. I originally applied for the MSN but because of the changes I decided to do the DNP. I have been looking for information as well but I have not found anything. I graduated with a 3.53 GPA and I worked in the Medical Intensive Care Unit for 10 months. I have no idea what exactly they are looking for in candidates. I wish some of the current or past UIC DNP students would provide some feedback on the program. I would love to learn more about it.

Everyone has an accent - I am from the Caribbean where English is our language, and when I first came to America I had people tell me that Americans don't have accents only people from outside America have accents. Within America there are various accents according to what State you come from, and everyone has an accent specific to their country. So yes Americans do have an American accent; people from Britian have a British accent; people from Africa have an Arfican accent, etc. We are in a profession (health) that is made up of people from all over the world - doctors and nurses come from all over - so we need to try our very best to be versatile and get to understand other accents. Also people should realize that if someone does not understand what they are saying, then they need to be patient, and not get angry at that person. My boyfriend is also from the Caribbean and he is in medical school in the US right now. We both have the same accent, and sometimes people don't always understand what we say, especially if we talk fast. I have realized that in my country we do not pronounce "r" with as much stress as Americans and people from other countries do, so I have actually started stressing on my "r", and it has helped tremendously. I have told my boyfriend about it since he being a doctor in training will need to better communicate with his patients. So I am making a great effort to better my communication skills since it will be essential when I start working in the hospital, even though most people already understand me.

I am 26 and will graduate in 2009 at 29. I was a banker then decided to switch my career to nursing - I started nursing school in fall 2005.
